Sean Elliott won the John R. Wooden Award in 1989 after a stellar senior season at the University of Arizona. A versatile and athletic forward, Elliott averaged 22.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, leading the Wildcats to a Pac-10 championship and a deep NCAA Tournament run. He was known for his smooth shooting, ball-handling ability, and leadership on the court, making him one of the most complete players in college basketball. Elliott finished his career as Arizona’s all-time leading scorer, a record that stood for decades. His Wooden Award win solidified his legacy as one of the greatest players in program history. By the end of his senior season, Elliott had become the most outstanding basketball player in Arizona history. Named All Pac-10 in 1987, 1988, and 1989, he was consensus All American in 1988 and 1989 and led Arizona in 1988 to its first NCAA Final Four appearance.
