In the 2023-24, Caitlyn Clark averaged 31.6 points, 8.9 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game, leading Division I in scoring and assists. She finished with the highest career scoring average (28.42) in Division I history.  Clark broke the NCAA women’s career scoring record, surpassing Wooden Award winner Kelsey Plum (2017), and became the greatest scorer in NCAA Division 1 history, male or female, surpassing Pete Maravich and ending her career with 3,951 points.

Entering the year, Clark was named preseason Big Ten Player of the Year and earned unanimous AP preseason All-American honors.  On October 15, 2023, at a preseason game she had a triple-double of 34 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. The game had an attendance of 55,646, which set the women's basketball attendance record. Clark is Iowa's all-time leading scorer, and is only the second player in Division I history with a triple-double in four different seasons, joining Wooden Award winner Sabrina Ionescu.

On December 6, 2023, Clark became the 15th Division I player to reach 3,000 career points and was the second-fastest to reach the mark and she has become the Big Ten's all-time leader in assists. She became the sixth Division I women's player with 1,000 career assists and on February 15, 2024, Clark became the NCAA scoring leader surpassing Kelsey Plum, finishing the game with a career-high 49 points, 13 assists and five rebounds. On February 28, Clark passed Lynette Woodard to become the all-time leader in points among major women's college players.

Our 2024 Wooden Award winner, Caitlyn Clark became the 7th two-time winner of the Wooden Award Women’s Player of the Year (Seimone Augustus [‘05 & ‘06], Candace Parker [‘07 & ‘08], Maya Moore [‘09 & ‘11], Brittney Griner [‘12 & ‘13], Breanna Stewart [‘15 & ‘16], and Sabrina Ionescu [‘19 & ‘20]).
