Buddy Hield
University of Oklahoma
Buddy Hield became the second player from Oklahoma to win the Wooden Award, joining Blake Griffin in 2009. The Bahamas native beat out Michigan State's Denzel Valentine and Kentucky's Tyler Ulis for the award. Hield finished his collegiate career ranked second at Oklahoma in scoring with 2,291 points. He is the Big 12’s all-time leading scorer and became just the second player in Big 12 history to win conference player of the year twice (Raef LaFrentz, 1997, 1998). He is a two-time All-Big 12 First Team member (2015, 2016) and ranks first in Oklahoma history in 3-pointers made (349) and attempted (894). Hield finished regular season conference play with 1,202 career points, the most all-time by any Big 12 player and finished his career ranked third in Big 12 history in both field goals made (783) and 3-pointers made (349). He set a conference record for most 30-point games with 14, including 12 during his senior season.
