Blake Griffin became the first Wooden Award winner from the University of Oklahoma. Griffin recorded an amazing 30 double-doubles on the season for the Sooners, averaging an NCAA-leading 14.4 rebounds, the highest mark since 1997 Wooden Award winner Tim Duncan, 22.4 points and shooting 65.4% from the field. He was named to the All South Region team as his team advanced to the Elite Eight. A native of Oklahoma City, the 6-10 sophomore led Oklahoma to its fifth ever 30-win season. He ranks first at Oklahoma in career field goal percentage (.618), second in rebounds per game (11.8), third in double-doubles (40), sixth in points per game (18.8), ninth in rebounds (805) and 17th in points (1,278) despite playing just two seasons. He assembled two-year NCAA Tournament per-game averages of 22.3 points, 11.8 rebounds (both school records) and 2.3 assists, as well as a school-record .778 field goal mark.
