Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis became the first player from the University of Kentucky to win the Wooden Award. He was also the Final Four Most Outstanding Player and started all 40 games for Kentucky in leading the Wildcats in points (14.2) and rebounds (10.4). He broke the Kentucky single-season blocks record with 186 swats on the year. A 6-10 forward, Davis earned college basketball’s most prestigious honor after an outstanding freshman season in which he averaged 14.2 points, 10.4 rebounds and 4.6 blocks. He shot 64.2 percent from the field and recorded 19 double-doubles. He has led his team to a 38-2 overall record, a national championship, and an undefeated Southeastern Conference season. He became the second freshman to win the Wooden Award, joining Texas’ Kevin Durant in 2007. A native of Chicago, Davis is the first Southeastern Conference player to be honored and was also the SEC Player of the Year.
