Doug McDermott became the first Wooden Award recipient from Creighton University. He was named National Player of the Year by 14 different groups, including the USBWA (Oscar Robertson Trophy), John R. Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy, Adolph F. Rupp Trophy, Associated Press, NABC, Basketball Times and The Sporting News. He owns the top three single-season scoring marks in Creighton history. Led the nation in points, points per 40 minutes and points per game. Also second in FG made, ninth in 3-point percentage, 20th in 3’s made, 42nd in FT%, 43rd in free throws made and 59th in FG%. He set an NCAA record with 135 career games scoring in double-figures. Ranked fifth in NCAA history with 3,150 career points, passing Larry Bird on Feb. 16, 2014 vs. No. 6 Villanova with 39 points and passing Oscar Robertson and Hersey Hawkins on March 8, 2014 with 45 points. He scored 22 points or more in 14 straight games in 2014.
